Headway Southampton & West Wessex is a local charity based in Totton near Southampton, that offers support, advice and rehabilitation services to adults with an acquired brain injury from across Southampton City, New Forest, Winchester, Romsey & Eastleigh districts, parts of Fareham borough and recently supporting Salisbury, South East Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.

Our mission is to improve the lives and promote the independence of local brain injury survivors. To provide support and advice to their families, friends and carers and to raise awareness of the life changing effects of brain injury.

Brain Injury Support Group for Survivors and Carers

Come along to our free monthly drop in meetings, Survivors Group the last Friday of every month and the Carer’s Group being the first Tuesday of every month.

Counselling Service

We now have a new counsellor. If you are struggling with the psychological effects of a brain injury or the brain injury of a friend of family member please contact us and we can send you a counselling referral form.

We have been running a monthly support group on the Isle of Wight for the past year. This is held on the first Saturday of each month at the Riverside Centre in Newport, from 10am - 12pm. If you know anyone that may benefit from this support group on the island please send them in our direction. I have always felt comfortable no matter what I've spoken about. Especially when I have been upset. Feeling comfortable and able to talk openly about myself and my feeling. It's a fun but relaxed atmosphere and I love it here.
